The Third National Conference on Information Sciences (NCIS-2011) will be held during April 29-30, 2011 at Manipal Centre for Information Science (MCIS), Manipal, Karnataka, India.
The Institute is a state of the art of excellence, industry driven in the field of health Care IT, VLSI, Embedded Systems, Wireless Technology.
MCIS was set up in the year 1998. The Institute has been continuously striving for excellence in education and research with a mission of offering value based education. At MCIS, we create a vibrant atmosphere where the creativity and discipline strike balance. MCIS has been conducting Post Graduate courses in the highly specialized areas like Medical Software, VLSI CAD, Embedded Systems, Wireless Embedded Technology, IT Management. All course at MCIS has strong association with the industries like GE Medical Systems, Cerner, Synopsys, Whizchip, NXP Semiconductors, Manipal Dot Net and many more.

Guidelines:
One copy of the full paper not exceeding 6 pages, as per IEEE double column MS word format on any of the above and related topics should be sent to the convener by email. The accepted papers with full registration fees paid will be published in the proceedings of the conference, authors are requested to send their paper in editable format. PDF format will not be accepted

* Introduction to Altera Devices/ ASIC & FPGA
* Introduction to Quartus II Software & Design flow (Quartus II design software is a fully integrated development tool which allows multiple design entry methods, Logic synthesis, Place & route, Simulation, Timing & power analysis and Device programming)
Afternoon
* Hands on Simulation & Synthesis using Quartus II Software
* Hands on Implementation & Optimization using Quartus II Software
Day II
Forenoon
* Designing with the Nios II Processor and SOPC Builder. (Nios II is a soft‐core 32 bit RISC microprocessor that has been developed internally by Altera. It’s based on Harvard architecture with a 32‐bit instruction and data path, separate instruction and data cache, and 32 general purpose registers, and three formats of triadic instructions)
* Design flow of Nios II Processor and SOPC Builder
* Hands on using Nios II Processor and SOPC Builder

* Hands on Verification tools in Quartus II Software
* Demonstration of Development boards and debugging tools
